L-Għaqda Mużikali Mount Carmel se tniedi CD intitolat “Tifħira li Tixraq” nhar l-Imnarja (29
ta’ Ġunju) f’serata apposta fil-każin tal-Għaqda, Ix-Xatt, il-Gżira fis-7 pm.
Id-diska tinkludi 10 marċi b’seba’ minnhom komposti
speċifikament għall-banda Mount Carmel mis-Surmastrijiet Diretturi tal-banda
kemm passati u kemm preżenti. Fis-CD ġew inklużi l-marċi Lill-Karmelitani; Innu
tal-Banda u Up The Maroons
tal-eks Surmast Direttur tal-Banda Carmelo G. Borg. Kien jixraq li l-Għaqda
Mużikali Mount Carmel tinkludi dan il-marċ popolari anki billi l-Gżirjani din
is-sena qed jiċċelebraw bi kbir il-promozzjoni ta’ Gżira United F.C. fl-ogħla
diviżjoni tal-kampjonat tal-futbol.
Naturalment ġew inklużi żewġ marċi ta’ George Debono,
is-Surmast Direttur preżenti li huma: Innu
Marċ lill-Banda Mount Carmel u Għaxar
Snin President.
Il-marċi l-oħra huma: Vice
President tal-Assistent Direttur tal-Għaqda Mużikali Mount Carmel, Andrew
Calleja u L-Għaqda Tagħna
tal-bandista tal-post Karin Grech li hi wkoll gradwata fil-mużika
mill-Università ta’ Malta.
It-tliet marċi l-oħra rrekordjati fis-CD huma: Balfrendoza; Ontario u Granada
tal-Maġġur Anthony Aquilina, s-Surmast Ray Sciberras u s-Surmast Vincenzo
Ciappara rispettivament - tlieta mill-aqwa kompożituri Maltin f’dan il-ġeneru
ta’ mużika.
Minbarra l-għaxar marċi msemmija id-diska tinkludi omaggio lill-banda intitolat Tifħira li Tixraq li hu wkoll l-isem
tas-CD ġdid. Is-Surmast Direttur George Debono ikkompona dan ix-xogħol
għall-versi tal-poeta Anselm Sciberras fl-2002 meta l-Gżira ċċelebrat
iċ-ċentinarju mill-inċident tat-tfiegħ ta’ ġebla lejn inkwatru tal-Madonna.
Kien dan l-inċident li beda t-triq biex tinbena l-knisja parrokjali u li kompla
ta spinta lid-devozzjoni lejn il-Madonna tal-Karmnu.
Din hi kompożizzjoni li tirrakkonta l-istorja tul
iż-żmien sakemm il-Gżira kibret u saret parroċċa awtonoma u belt, kif ukoll
it-twaqqif tal-banda li llum titqies bħala waħda mill-aħjar fil-pajjiż.
Il-poeżija titkanta minn Pamela Bezzina filwaqt li Tony Micallef jipprovdi
n-narrattiva. Din is-silta tindaqq kull sena fil-programm ta’ fuq iz-zuntier
tal-knisja lejlet il-festa.
Ir-rekordjar strumentali sar fl-iskola primarja ta’
Birżebbuġa filwaqt li l-vuċijiet tal-kantanti u tan-narratur u l-muntaġġ saru
fl-istudju tas-Sound Engineer Vanni Farrugia, iż-Żejtun
Is-CD se tkun għall-bejgħ wara t-tnedija tagħha nhar
l-Imnarja fid-29 ta’ Ġunju bi prezz ta’ €10.
Kopji tas-CD jistgħu jinxtraw mill-Każin stess jew minn Gżira

The CD features a special number entitled Tifħira li Tixraq which pays homage to
the band itself and which was composed by Mro George Debono to the lyrics
Anslem Sciberras. This composition was launched for the first time in 2002 when
the Parish of Gżira commemorated the hundreth anniversary of an unusual incident.
The image of the Holy Mary was desecrated after a stone was thrown at it and
the devotion that followed eventually led to the founding of Gżira as a new and
autonomous parish. Hence the name Madonna
tal-Ġebla.
Mro. Debono’s composition relates the history of Gżira
and pays tribute to the founding of Gżira’s own band and band club. It will be
also be performed live during the yearly concert on the eve of the feast
dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
The composition is sung by Pamela Bezzina and the story
is narrated by Tony Micallef.
The instrumental part of the CD was recorded at the
Birżebbuġa Primary School. The vocals and editing were produced by Sound
Engineer Vanni Farrugia at his studios in Żejtun.

Tixraq will be for sale after its launch on June 29th for the price of €10.
